Pediatric Dentistry is the dental specialty recognized by the American Dental Association which encompasses comprehensive dental care for all children, from infancy through adolescence.

A children’s dental specialist, like Dr. Palmer and Dr. Kirby, is a practitioner who, after becoming a general dentist (often called a family dentist), has completed an additional two years of post-doctoral training in the recognition and treatment of children’s dental services. Specialty education includes child psychology, behavior guidance, preventive techniques, restorative dentistry, and the treatment of children with special needs.

A thorough exam will be done to evaluate the health of your child’s teeth, gums and mouth. Dr. Palmer will evaluate your child's growth and development and check to make sure your child’s oral development is on track.  Our office will make child-specific recommendations for sealants, fluoride and other services based on your child’s individual needs and habits.

Dr. Palmer and his team strive to make each visit fun, educational and memorable for you and your child.

Preventive Oral Hygiene Instruction:

This includes proper brushing, flossing and eating habits, ideal fluoride levels and the use of pit and fissure sealants. We strive to provide a fun, educational environment where children learn about the importance of good dental hygiene.

Restorative Dentistry:

This includes children’s fillings, crowns and prosthesis, including treatment of the often devastating nursing bottle decay.  Dr. Levi is committed to discussing all options before these procedures and answering all questions you may have.  Always working towards the goal of a healthy smile is his priority.

Growth and Development & Braces:

As a pediatric dental specialist, our doctors are Chico's local expert on the growth and development of children’s dentition, jaws and craniofacial structures.  Our young smile evaluation may provide your child with a more positive experience should they need orthodontic treatment.
